Serving Its Purpose. |
| Though cassette tapes have largely been replaced by discs, I'm not sure if they shall ever completely go the way of the 8-track or vinyl records. Tapes are still less expensive to make than a cd and major corporation still use them. Nevertheless, it is becoming more and more increasingly difficult to find a decent handheld regular-cassette tape recorder. I used one for over a decade, taping lines for plays and music for songs to memorize. It also came in handy taping a roommate snoring and for used in some practical jokes. Not long ago I dropped the recorder I had used for years and was forced to go looking for a new one. Like I said before, there aren't many out on the market and many of the ones that are out there are too expensive. This nice little recorder from GE is a bit overpriced at Amazon (but it does include a tape and batteries), but it's one of the better priced and most easy to find ones currently being sold. The recorder does occassionally pick up some "static" noise during a recording, but almost all tape recorders have done that--this is analog, not digital. Overall, the GE 35369 CASSETTE RECORDER is a nice little handheld cassette recorder that serves its purpose well. |

Don't Waste Your Money! |
| I purchased this cassette recorder because I wanted a small one with a full size tape. When I listened to the first recording that I made of a meeting, there was a constant hum or noise during the playback that clearly came from the recording mechanism. The recording feature is of such poor quality that I am surprised that this product is still on the market. My advice to anyone considering this recorder is to look at another brand. I returned the one I bought for a refund because in my opinion, it was worthless. |
