Monster Cable iCarPlay Wireless FM Transmitter/Charger for iPod

Average rating: Stars
Stars Elegant, one-wire solution for in-car play
First off, this item is the iCarPlay Wireless PLUS, which is a better model than the non-plussed version. ;)

This is the most elegant, flexible, and portable solution for in-car play of your iPod yet devised. Sure, the sound quality is not as perfect as you'd find with an inline adapter, but for the money, it does everything you need with a one-wire setup.

I tried a few other FM transmitters before settling on this one, and they were never powerful enough to play through my radio. This one does that handily, and in the New York metro area, where there's as much radio saturation as you are likely to find anywhere, I can find three frequencies that can get me through any drive. [BTW, You don't actually need a "blank" frequency for this transmitter to work... if your car has a really sensitive tuner (as most mid-range cars do these days), just plugging in this device is enough to "trump" whatever's at the selected station. Your results may vary.]

And unlike my aftermarket satellite radio transmitter (also an FM "blaster"), the iCarPlay doesn't put white noise all over your FM and AM dials if you leave it on all the time. So it plays well with others.

Team it with the Belkin TuneDok, and you've got a complete solution, until you get that next car with the integrated iPod player.

Stars iPod for your car
Monster is the premier name in cable for electronics and audio equipment. That said, I live in a nearly satuarated FM market, so there are only one or two frequencies that are "open."

Despite the excessive bleading that occurs and the ungodly atmospheric interference from our fifth heatwave and its accompanying humidity (which causes weaker stations to fade in and out), this product can delver passable to excellent sound quality depending on conditions.

Give serious thought to where you live and where you might use this product. Also give some thought to how powerful your existing car radio antenna is. If it can pull in distant radio signals, you may have some minor problmes with signal blead as well.

Resetting the radio station is easy enough, and probably the most complicated thing you would have to do to cutomize the transmitter.

The charger works as advertised. Sometimes handy for those times I've forgotten to charge up.

I would recommend this product to those who would rather use an iPod rather than carry 60 CD's in their car.

And one more thing, safety first. Set up your iPod before cranking up. Change you mind about what you listen to while waiting for signal changes. If you use polarized sunglasses, you will have trouble seeing your iPod. Enjoy responsibly!

Stars $10.00 Tape Adaptor is enough
I have a different opinion towards FM adaptors.

You can have a better sound with Tape adaptor itself. For those who complain about the "Hiss" noise: a careful adjustment of your audio volume (car and ipod ) will make it go.

First , keep your car audio volume to the minimum possible. After connecting ipod thro tape adaptor, increase the ipod volume to about half. now start increasing the car audio volume until you are satisfied.

At about half the volume level (both in Ipod and your car audio) , the hiss noise is disappear and you will a get clear and loud enough music.

Now if you want to increase the volume, slightly increase the volume of ipod.

This what I did for my Nissan Bose and I am pleased with the audio now. I dont hear Hiss noise or any other distortion.

but Again, you cannot listen with full volume on your car audio... the music will get distored. but who listens with full volume anyway.... if you want to do that, then reduce slightly reduce your bass and treble.
